Culinary Adventures: A Private Chef’s Global Cookbook

Oklahoma Chef Shares Culinary Adventures and Recipes from Around the Globe

Shannon Smith, a private chef from Tulsa, has recently published a cookbook that is the culmination of her travels around the world. Having been inspired by different cultures and their cuisines, she has included stories from her experiences in the book alongside recipes.

Smith began cooking around 20 years ago and has since visited 53 countries. As she traveled and taught cooking classes, she made it a point to immerse herself in different cultures to understand how they prepare their food. Her travels led her to meet people who shared their cultures and recipes with her. Over the span of six years, she documented these experiences along with pictures and recipes in her book.

The cookbook features 12 chapters, each representing a different place where Smith has cooked. While only one chapter is dedicated to the United States specifically New Mexico, the other chapters highlight diverse cuisines from countries such as Japan, Italy, Morocco and many more. Each chapter contains 10-11 recipes that are unique to that particular region or country.

Smith self-published the book making it exclusively available for purchase on her website chefshannon.com
